JAKARTA, PRINDONESIA.CO - Beautiful, young and talented. That was what was reflected from Eggie Nurmahabbi. At the age of 26 years, the woman who is a2018 - 2019 PR INDONESIA ICON has held a strategic position in her company. Namelyas the Strategic Communication Leader of PT Sinergi Informatika Semen Indonesia (SISI).

In her conversation with PR INDONESIA before the peak of the PR INDONESIA Jamboree (JAMPIRO) #4 in Semarang on Friday (9/11/2018), it was clearly showed that Eggie had a millennial spirit of learning. The woman who was born in 1993 is a figure who is not easily satisfied. Her character was shown by her participation in the PR INDONESIA ICON event organized by PR INDONESIA.

The reason that motivated her at that time was the enthusiasm to build networks and increase public relations knowledge, especially hat there are still many people who look down on the profession in general, and the wrong views about their generation, the millennials. "From this event I want to show that PR practitioners under the age of 30 can play a strategic role in the company. They are not always identicas employees who run small things such as being a photographer and make releases, " she said excitedly.

Acting

"I like acting," she said. Her talent was honed when she was in college. At that time, the alumni of the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University were actively performing together with the Dipo Theater. In this theater scene, she did not just participate as an actress, but also a director and scriptwriter.

Being active in the world of theater is very helpful for Eggie when entering the workforce as a PR. "Theater hones my skills from vocal, adapting to other actors, arranging intonation, dialogue, and event management. All of these competencies are important for communication practitioners like PR,"said the woman who had started her acting hobby since junior high school. More than that, in the world of theater, she was also taught how to overcome crisis and face many people.

Eggie’s other hobby is writing. Eggie channels her hobbies through personal blogs. Its contents vary from personal experience to matters relating to the world of PR/communication. One of her writings tells her experience visiting the Baduy tribe, Banten. To arrive at the location, she and her friend must travel 15 km. From this experience, she can prove to herself that the science of public relations can be practiced anywhere and to anyone, including the Baduy people.

To the young PR practitioner, she advised not to stick to the routine. She learned that understanding when performing the "Elegi" of Dipo Theater in 2014. The performance that had been viral in several local media told about the importance of communication strategies. "From that story, there is a lesson that can be learned as a PR practitioner. That is, you have to pay attention to 3M — mind, mouth, manner," she said.

The meaning is, public relations practitioners must be knowledgeable and critical thinking, capable of communicating verbally, especially when facing clients/audiences, and always maintaining attitudes as a representation of the company. (umi)
