JAKARTA, PRINDONESIA.CO – Hoax has become an eternal issue. For Muslims, hoaxes have existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In fact, a warning against the dangers of hoaxes is already written in the Quran, Surah Al Hujurat verse 6, which reads, "O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.”

Over time, hoaxes have developed following the times. From what was originally created as a form of protest until it was time for a new era, digitalization. An era where hoaxes with the existence of artificial intelligence and big data are able to infiltrate in a structured, planned, and continuous manner. The objectives of hoaxes are varied, ranging from economic interests to dividing a nation.

Structured and Planned

Especially since the presence of social media. This platform is one of the media for spreading hoaxes that is most potent in shaking the "faith" because it can create an echo chamber effect — a condition in which someone only wants to hear something that is like-minded.
